Welding and Fabrication
Mig welding and tig welding on a variety of metals including mild and stainless steel
Welding at General and Tube Engineering isn't just about sticking two pieces together with a snotty but functional piece of weld. All of our skilled engineers are experts in welding and can create functional, strong and perfectly formed welds time after time. We have banks of welding machines set up to weld in either TIG or MIG across both mild steel and stainless steel.
General and Tube Engineering are experts in fabricating and manipulating metal. Many of our products are fabrications in tubular steel, an area in which we excel. Where necessary and when the quantity dictates, we will manufacture jigs on site to ensure we get repeatability and consistent quality.
We have bending, folding and cutting equipment to deal with sheet metal work and can fold, polish, paint and form sheet metal to order. This section compliments our tubular fabrications where combinations of both skills are required to manufacturer customer requirements.
Bending and Rolling
The mainstay of our work is tubular manipulation and we can bend or roll a variety of tube and square steel sections.
General and Tube Engineering are specialists in tube bending and we can bend a range of square and round tube, with or without seams to your specifications.
Our real specialism is in the design of fabricated tube to suit the needs of small businesses who simply cannot afford to spend tens of thousands on development. Our staff will work with you to produce a cost effective prototype or sellable model so that you can then go and take your product to the marketplace. Many of our customers have started this way and moved on to great things.
Our main bending machine is a CNC mandrel machine that can be programmed to give a repeatable and consistent product. We have the capacity to store several hundred thousand programmes. So you can rest assured that the next job will be exactly the same as the last
We also have a twin head empty bend machine capable of bending a variety of round and square sections at a cost effective speed.
We also have a set of Ring Rollers giving us the ability to roll larger diameters on flats, angles, square and round section tubes.
Powder coating
With our own powder coating plant we paint nearly all our products in-house, keeping the cost down for our customers. This also allows us to control the whole process from design, to build, to final finishing. Enabling us to give the customer what they want and when they want it.
Stainless steel work/ Polishing
We create a range of fine stainless steel products, including wreath rails for hearse's made of the finest stainless steel and polished to a mirror finish. We can also manufacture coffin stops, bow rails and side rails for boats, handrails, grab handles, and any other fabrications to suit your needs.
We have a small in-house polishing set-up for the final finishing of our stainless steel fabrications. All of our work is carried out to a very high standard to ensure that our customers get the best.
